Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and world-famous as a former royal and imperial residence. It has many buildings and squares worth seeing, and the Vltava River was sung in many songs.

I spent the Easter vacation 2017 here with my parents and enjoyed the sights and delicious food.
Prague is called the “Golden City” or the “City of a Hundred Spires.” The name is based on the numerous towers that shimmer golden in the sunlight. Especially worth seeing is the Old Town Square with colorful Baroque buildings, Gothic churches, and the medieval astronomical clock, where you can see an animated chime every hour. In the same square, numerous restaurants are serving delicious casual fare. We had chosen a cellar restaurant for lunch, where you first had to go far below the market square level. But it was worth it. We had delicious goulash with dumplings.
A lovely place is the Charles Bridge, with its many statues. Here painters and musicians gather to entertain visitors. Prague Castle at Hradčany is also interesting. During our boat trip on the Vltava River, on a historically recreated steamer, we were able to discover many beautiful places from the waterside. Our accommodation was also very unusual. It was a sort of shared apartment with vintage-style furniture. There was a communal kitchen where everyone could eat when they wanted.

Prague has the oldest university in Central Europe, Charles University. It was founded in 1348.
The Petøín lookout tower was opened on August 20, 1891, as a scaled-down replica of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Here you have a magnificent view of the city and its surroundings.
