Celina and Andrea have always had a creative artistic streak, and especially Celina could / had to live this out during the pandemic and now in the school area or her voluntary internship. So that the two can make their works accessible to a broad public, we have created the websites kuehne-photo.com and kuehne-art.com.
In the beginning, Celina focused on drawings and later on the (s)milestone project. In the 10th grade, she had chosen the subject Graphic Design. When we then chose the subject of Professional Photography for the 11th grade and in addition to the subject of Newspaper, a new passion was awakened. And also, Andrea’s enthusiasm for photography was rekindled.
With great enthusiasm, the two are now dealing with the many facets of this genre, and an independent and successful photographer is teaching Celina practical skills.
Many great photos, especially close-ups of flowers and various animals, have always been taken, but initially “only” with a cell phone. In the meantime, we are proud owners of quite extensive camera equipment, with more professional photos possible. (To our chagrin, this is constantly growing)
Due to her excellent knowledge and graphic design skills, Celina could already be very helpful to us and others. For example, she has designed the logo for our family t-shirts and jackets, the t-shirts for the Ballet Folklorico, the logo for Matthias’ company, and various posters for her fellow students and their clubs. She has also been the photo editor for the Austin High School Newspaper since December 2021.
In the meantime, we actually know pretty well in which direction her further education should go after high school. In Germany, we probably wouldn’t have discovered her potential in this area, or only much later. She would undoubtedly have completed some training first (which would certainly not have been fun for her), and job prospects in the creative field are pretty scarce in Germany. So this is also proof that we obviously made a good decision with our emigration.
And what does Matthias do? He’s not so much into art and, as a business economist, prefers to prepare for the big money count when the wealth expected from these new fields of activity arrives… or he serves as a carrier for tripods, lighting, and various other stuff.
If you want to see more, look at kuehne-photo.com and kuehne-art.com. The sites are still under construction and will of course be updated at irregular intervals. We are looking forward to seeing you!
