from Celina-Marie Kuehne /
In February 2020, I was nominated by my Fine Art teacher to participate in a Texas-wide art competition, which I was very excited about. The event occurred at the end of February in San Marcos at San Marcos High School.
This annual event aims to recognize exemplary artwork by students from across the state and, in turn, to assess the quality of instruction in high schools. It also acknowledges art teachers for their efforts to provide students with diverse growth opportunities.
Our group went to the venue on Saturday with a provided school bus. That alone was an exciting experience because it was my first trip here without my parents.
Students were interviewed about their artwork and self-written descriptions, and certified TAEA judges judged all submitted exhibits.
Sketch of the coffee cup in Paris
02/28/2020
I enjoy drinking coffee every day, so I captured this in a picture. Drinking coffee while sitting and watching the world is the best for me.
I used watercolor on canvas.
My artwork represents my love for my daily ritual and my favor for travel. I used my imagination to create this while remembering my trip to Paris.
Since that event, I have painted many more pictures and tried different painting techniques.
