We have decided that 2020 will be the year of state park visits for us. There are plenty of them in this country, which is good. Public nature areas, as we know them from Germany, are very few here. So let’s get out into the fresh air, enjoy the winter weather (and get our newly purchased western boots a little dirty).
Pedernales Falls State Park is a fairly large state park in Blanco County, west of Austin. Especially in January, it is quiet here, and you meet very few people.
The banks of the Pedernales River are a great place to hang out.
