Finally, the big day was here! After almost one and a half years, the Balett Folklorico had the first big live performance in the theater of Austin High School, and Celina took her first test as an officer. Intensive rehearsals took place during the last weeks (also during the vacation season), and the tension was high!
The dancers performed various dances from several Mexican regions to commemorate Mexican independence, and the director Ms. Maura Masters explained the special features to the enthusiastic visitors. It was also informative for us as parents and an excellent opportunity to see the whole troupe in action.
The show lasted about an hour, and the entire gang of rascals was exhausted afterward. But it was worth it, and more tickets were sold than planned. And the money can use the Balett Folklorico very well so that the group can buy new clothes.
